Sore throat is an inflammation that occurs caused by a bacterial or virus infection. Infection exposed by bacteria will show severe symptoms when compared to infection by viruses. In addition to infections by viruses and bacteria, there are several other things that can trigger sore throat.

Characteristics of sore throat

Causes of sore throat

1. Air

Hot air and stuffy can make your throat feel itchy, especially when you wake up and can be a trigger for sore throat.

2. Allergy

Allergic to dust is also a cause of sore throat. Things like mushrooms, animal fur, and flower pollen are the causes as well. The trigger for inflammation can cause sore throat and is a major cause of allergies.

3. Tense throat muscles

If you have the habit of screaming, this can be a trigger for inflammation of sore throat too. When shouting, the throat muscles will stiffen and can trigger sore throat.

4. Exposed to Air Pollution

Continuous air pollution can cause irritation of the throat. The habit of consuming excessive alcohol, smoking, and often eating foods that are too spicy can also cause sore throat.

5. Having GERD disease

GERD is a pain in the gut because of the stomach acid rises to esophagus. The esophagus is part of the digestive tract that connects the mouth and stomach. When someone is experiencing GERD, it can be a cause of inflammation of the throat.

6. throat tumor

Tumor throat is often associated with sore throat. The blood content in saliva becomes one of the sign of a person suffering from a throat tumor. Sore throat can affect a person's immune system.
